In this course, you will learn Dutch through real workplace situations and focus on applying what you learn directly to your own working environment. Our main course material is the book Werk en Taal, published by Coutinho.

You will develop your Dutch in the following areas:

• Everyday communication with colleagues

• Commonly used words and expressions in the workplace

• Asking questions, giving explanations, and asking for repetition

• Understanding and giving work instructions

• Talking about working conditions and work processes

• Communicating more naturally and fluently with colleagues

• Expressing yourself in a variety of workplace communication situations

The course goes beyond vocabulary and grammar — it also focuses on how to apply the Dutch you learn in real working life.

Our goal is not simply for you to know more Dutch words, but for you to be able to use Dutch confidently and effectively at work.

By the end of the 5 weeks, you will be able to:

• Talk more comfortably about your workplace, role, and responsibilities

• Take part more easily in everyday and work-related conversations with colleagues

• Understand work instructions better and ask for clarification when needed

• Communicate about planning, task distribution, and work processes

• Prepare for meetings, performance reviews, and customer interactions

• Express a problem or complaint in Dutch and respond appropriately

• Apply social communication skills such as asking for help, giving opinions, giving compliments, giving and receiving feedback

• Read and write basic work-related texts more comfortably

• Pay closer attention to correct intonation and pronunciation in Dutch

• Express yourself with greater confidence in Dutch in a workplace setting.
